The work was created by Language and Cognition Fellow <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.gavininglis.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Gavin Inglis<\/a> in partnership with Edinburgh artist <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/fincramb.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Fin Cramb<\/a> as part of the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ginkgoprojects.co.uk\/royal-hospital-for-sick-children\" target=\"_blank\">Beyond Walls<\/a> Art and Therapeutic Design (ATD) programme for the Department of Clinical Neurosciences, Edinburgh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"503\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Not-there-1024x503.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2027\" srcset=\"https:\/\/pre-prod.neurosymptoms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Not-there-1024x503.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/pre-prod.neurosymptoms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Not-there-300x147.jpg 300w, https:\/\/pre-prod.neurosymptoms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Not-there-768x377.jpg 768w, https:\/\/pre-prod.neurosymptoms.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Not-there.jpg 1323w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Gavin said, \u201cAs part of the fellowship at DCN, I wanted to create something that could help patients. Recognising and understanding a Functional Neurological Disorder is an essential part of treatment. Given that FNDs are misunderstood even by some neurologists, this seemed like an opportunity to produce a story which could be both informative and therapeutic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The story went through a long development process with input from NHS staff in diverse roles.
